Although the kitchen is more contemporary, the use of warm wood tones gave a typically cold look a more hospitable feel and did not make the project caustic to the character of the house.

An artisan was hired to sculpt a wavy, steel backsplash around the wet bar area that wrapped around glass creating the illusion of more light.

The sleek lines of the cabinetry as well as a glossy finish provided a fresh appearance. The break in color and mix of materials kept the large area from seeming daunting. The new kitchen island provided more space for cabinets and storage.
