How to Clean the Filter on Whirlpool Front Loading Washing Machine

Many of the washing machines have a filter that is easily accessed from the front. You just need to remove the toe panel to get access to the filter.

The filter is NOT on the front of this particular model, so I had to remove the back panel to access it. This video shows how to quickly access the panel from the back and how to clean it out.

Always check to see if the filter access is on the front before checking the back. The front access is much easier if it is available and there are fewer screws to remove.

We had some water draining issues, so I was hoping that it was just a clogged filter. The filter was fine, so I checked the drain lines they were not clogged either. I ended up replacing the pump (not in this video), and the washer works fine now.
